In this charmer, helmed by great comedy director Ernst Lubitsch, James Stewart and Margaret Sullavan star as two battling shop clerks who, unbeknownst to each other, are conducting an anonymous love affair by mail. Recently remade as YOU’VE GOT MAIL, with Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan, this is still the best version of a witty, well-told story.
